わたしがいない間にも、ショートジャケットづくりは着々と進行していました。
アンナさんから「襟は３回作り直してようやくひとつできたわ」と聞いたので、失敗した襟のひとつに小さなボタンを縫い付け、帰国後にウンベルト店内のディスプレイとして使うことを思いつきました。これはわたしにとってもちょっとした息抜きになり楽しい作業でした🪡
While I was away, Anna had been steadily working on making the short jackets. Anna told me, “I finally finished one collar after failed three times.” So I came up with the idea of sewing small buttons onto one of the failed collars and using it as a display piece in my shop. This was a fun project that gave me a little break.
もちろんこの mottainai 精神は、アンナさんもおなじです。失敗したという襟☝︎を使って、ミシンのボタンホール練習を繰り返していたようすがうかがえました 👀
