Rust – Umwelt

祇園祭の宵山にお店の定休日が重なった今年、市内中心部にある杉本家住宅の一般公開にうかがいました。

During the Gion Festival, I visited the Sugimoto Residence, a historic Kyoto machiya (traditional townhouse) in central Kyoto, which was open to the public.

屏風祭りの名のごとく、長年にわたり杉本家で大切にされてきた貴重な屏風を自然光で間近に拝見できる機会です。

It was a wonderful opportunity to see their valuable folding screens and decorations up close under natural light, all of which have been treasured by the family for many years.

Illuminated by the faint light, the intricate embroidered patterns on the delicate silk blind emerged, with a folding screen by Kumashiro Shuko

「竹屋町縫い」が施された御簾は、仏間庭からのかすかな光に照らされ、文様が浮かび上がって見えました。

空間を行きつ戻りつし、心ゆくまでハレの室礼とお庭の景色を眺めることができました。

周囲のようすが変わっていくとしても、長くつづくこの場所はこれからもずっと残っていきますように。
